Dear Educator:
TYKEs' exciting new 2009-2010 season is featuring some of the most wonderful children's books ever written, brought alive on stage by our troupe of extraordinary professional actors. We invite you to consider our upcoming season as a fun, worthwhile field trip opportunity to enhance your students' classroom learning.
At TYKEs, we know that school funds are especially tight, and that you need to choose your special events very carefully. With that in mind, we've designed TYKEs shows to offer an exceptionally enriching educational experience....
- TYKEs provides study guides that truly help students get the most from
our productions - not just crossword puzzles or pictures to color. - TYKEs scrupulously reviews a wide assortment of scripts and selects only
those with the very finest writing, legitimate educational content, and audience interaction. Students not only watch what happens on stage, but are asked to become directly involved. Our focus is on active learning. - To help stretch your school budget, TYKEs provides one complimentary chaperone ticket for every ten student tickets purchased. Also, tickets for school groups are offered at a significant discount: just $6 per ticket (versus $14 for weekend shows).
- Educators are welcome to preview any of our weekend performances at
no charge.
Field trip shows are presented at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the JCC on the following dates:
• Click, Clack, Moo – Friday, December 11
• Frog and Toad – Friday, January 22
• James and the Giant Peach — Friday, March 26
