Back - for the third year in a row - by popular demand: The Missoula Children's Theatre Experience!
- January 17, 2009 at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Kids can enjoy this show in two ways: by watching it - or starring in it! TYKEs presents an incredible concept in children's theatre - a full-scale musical with sets, costumes, make-up and props starring up to 64 local kids! We rehearse Monday through Friday and perform the show that Saturday!
TYKEs is partnering with Missoula Children's Theatre, a troupe that has been touring for more than 30 years to nearly 1100 cities annually in all 50 states and overseas. (They joined us to present
Robin Hood and
Jack and the Beanstalk in past seasons!) The Missoula team comes to town with everything needed to put on a play - except the cast. Children are well rehearsed throughout the week, learning lines, songs and choreography to perform in this full-length musical.
The cost is $150 to participate in the week-long experience, and includes one free ticket to the performance. Children do not need to audition in order to participate, but please sign up early; slots are limited! As of January 2, 2009, performance slots remain for children
ages 13 and older. All slots for children 12 and under have been filled. Registration is only available via phone by calling TYKEs at (585) 723-6080.
Rehearsals are Monday to Friday January 12-16 from 4 p.m. to about 8:30 p.m. with snack breaks. (Younger kids' rehearsal times are shorter.)

A musical adaptation of the classic and enduring tale about a kindhearted girl who is forced to work as a servant for her slightly wicked stepmother and jealous stepsisters. This enchanting magical journey is fueled by inner beauty, courage and kindness, celebrating the triumph over greed and arrogance. Sure we know how it ends (happily ever after!) but this story, often regarded as the most popular fairy tale of all time, is sure to be a delight for the whole family!

The hilarious
New York Times best-selling children's book comes alive on stage, performed by the original off-Broadway cast from NYC! Never-before performed in Rochester!
Written by Elizabeth Kann and Victoria Kann
Pinkalicious can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe - "I'm Pinkerbelle!" she sings, crying tears of delight - a dream come true for this pink-loving enthusiast. The doctor prescribes lots of green food, but she cannot resist another cupcake or two, and her delicate pink skin tone deepens to a red! Horrors. She proceeds to consume every green food she can find (relish, brussels sprouts, grapes, even a cup of green tea). Just as the formerly "pinkalicious" girl returns to normal, her little brother, now quite rosy, shouts "Pink-a-boo!"
