Grease

Book, Music and Lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey
- October 20, 21, 27 & 28, 2007 at 2 p.m.
This is the high-energy 1950s rock 'n roll musical you loved before your kids were born, now "rated G" and suitable for children! This abridged version features all the fun-loving spirit and immortal songs that make Grease a favorite among fans of all ages, but with cleverly modified dialogue and song lyrics appropriate for family audiences.
It's Rydell High's spirited class of '59, complete with gum-chewing, hot-rod-loving boys and their outspoken girls in bobby sox and pedal pushers. TYKEs captures the look and sound of the 1950s in this wildly popular rollicking musical. While hip Danny Zuko and wholesome Sandy Dumbrowski resolve the problems of their mutual attraction, the gang sings and dances its way through such nostalgic scenes as the pajama party, the prom, the burger palace, and the drive-in movie. Songs recall the Buddy Holly hiccups, the Little Richard yodels and the Elvis Presley wiggles that made the music of the 50s a blast. Grease's amazing eight year run made Broadway history and its recent long-running revival puts it among today's hottest musicals.

Based on Hans Christian Andersen's "The Ugly Duckling"
Book and Lyrics by Anthony Drewe
Music by George Stiles
- February 2, 3, 9 & 10, 2008 at 2 p.m.
Honk! is the spectacularly hilarious musical version of Hans Christian Andersen's classically famous story "The Ugly Duckling." Universally considered one of the best stories ever written for children, Honk! is the story of Ugly, whose atypical, gawky looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors. Separated from the farm and pursued by a very hungry cat, Ugly must find his way home. Along his rollicking and harrowing journey, he not only discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny, but also finds love and acceptance.
Witty and smart, but also sweet and moving, Honk! will treat your family to plenty of laughter, along with a few gentle life lessons. Its charm, humor and message of tolerance is absolutely ideal for kids of all ages!
